Smibs is Now in Full Public Beta!

Today, Smibs has entered Full Public Beta mode for all of our applications. Essentially, this means anyone is free to sign-up and will have access to our software in seconds. Here at Smibs, we are excited for this release, as it is a natural progression toward our full launch planned for early in 2009.Â
For those who have been hesitant to sign-up for our prior invite-only beta modes, now is a perfect time to try our software and see how it can help you. Our software was designed for small businesses to handle customer relationships, sales activities and networking with other professionals. In addition to small business owners, we are seeing a large segment of our clients using our applications Doorbell and Personal Contacts to organize work schedules, school projects and personal activities. SmibsNet is quickly becoming an online source for employers to search and contact skilled professionals for employment.
For those of you already with SmibsNet accounts, we have added some cool features. SmibsNet is now live and available on Smibs.com. Â This means you can search and browse other profiles without logging in. Â As well, all profiles are now searchable by search engines, which means more exposure for you and your company.
We are constantly looking for improvements and suggestions from our end-users so don’t be shy to send us a comment or question to support@smibs.com. Thanks to all of our current users and supporters, see you on SmibsNet!
We Have Successfully Launched into Public Beta!

It took a few late nights and more then a couple pots of coffee, be we have successfully launched SmibsNet and Doorbell into Public Beta. We definitely need to thank the tireless work from our programmers, designers and writers that helped to release the software. Our gratitude also goes out to Yellow Pencil and Toybox Media Inc. for technical and media support during our launch process.
We also would like to recognize all the great feedback we got from our users while in Private Beta. Your suggestions helped us to create a truly intuitive and interactive product.

Smibs Launches into Public Beta
Tuesday, October 21st, 2008Today we are excited to announce the invite-only Public Beta launch of SmibsNet and Doorbell! Inspired by the advice of our testers, we have worked hard since our Private Beta launch in June to refine our product to meet the unique needs of our users, maximizing the efficiency and usability of our interface and applications.
As I mentioned, our Public Beta will be invite only, giving our current users the ability to invite their friends to join them on our system and to find out how SmibsNet and Doorbell seamlessly integrates networking as well as contact and opportunity management.
We built SmibsNet and Doorbell because we saw a need for “sales software for non-sales peopleâ€â€” now we want to know your needs. Instead of building and perfecting our system in isolation, we want you to help us create an evolving product, tailored to its users.

SmibsTV Launch!
Friday, July 25th, 2008As I write, Smibs Founder and CEO Peter Urban is probably enjoying a refreshing cocktail and networking with Silicon Valley entrepreneurs at the TechCrunch August Capital event. We here in Edmonton at the Smibs lab would be jealous and calculating Peter’s demise if we didn’t have something else to get excited about, and today that is the launch of our new SmibsTV video blog!
The Smibs staff was in agreement when Peter won the August Capital tickets that this would be a great opportunity to coincide with the launch of our show, a concept that has been ruminating around the Smibs lab for weeks now. The idea is simple: informative, to-the-point video blogging from our small business to yours. We want to provide viewers with a space of exchange between entrepreneurs, small businesses and industry, harvesting the knowledge needed to change how business works. As always here at Smibs, we want to help your business Grow Smart!
Our daily Grow Smart 180 (GS180) show is 180 seconds dedicated to no-nonsense ideas and solutions for your small business. We want to show you how you can turn short bouts of inspiration into long-term success. Every week or two we will be doing a longer, more detailed 15 minute segment interviewing other talented, risk-taking professionals in the search for more Grow Smart business ingredients.
